Enough is enough
In my sixty plus years the absurdity of life has struck me in the worse way. Because people choose to champion the most ridiculous causes. I know they think they have a stalwart cause, but enough is a enough! It is again the time of the year when young people around the country head off to Washington DC to participate in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
I have watched in awe as these pint size people spell words that make me shake my head. If it wasn’t for the advent of spell checker, and my daughter, this spelling challenged girl would not be writing this blog. I so wanted to be a doctor but my mom advised me that I would kill my patients with my spelling. So off I went to nursing school where it worked out well for me and my family!
Back to the spelling bee. This year four people decided that we need to revamp the English spelling of words and spell them as they are pronounced. Such as enough to enof and fruit to froot. So in their bee costumes they picketed the National Spelling Bee. Well this sounds sensible but what a mess this would cause the reading and spelling world as we now know it. It would cause turmoil the world over!
To these people I have this to say. Get a grip! Go out and feed the hungry! Help save the whales or injured pets or help the elderly. Leave the spelling bee alone. Make a real difference! Enough is Enough!!
