OMG! Even without the smell of chimney smoke from the fireplace or the crunch of fallen leaves under our feet, you know its fall because the call of “Lets play football” is in the air in San Diego. The Chargers just paraded their new talent out on the field vying for up coming position and those that watched the game were not disappointed. These young men pulled out all stops.
 
One gladiator caught my eye and had me yelling loudly and spilling my bowl of pop corn. He is stated to be 5’11″ (he looks shorter), and 218 lbs of pure muscle and fighting spirit. He dashes down the field with long dredlocks flying in the air. He cuts through the defensive linemen like a laser. He dances, prances, and eats yardage headed toward the goal line. If he doesn’t have a blocker he just lowers his shoulder and takes out the tackler himself.
 
I know that it’s too early to think super bowl. But barring an injury this is going to be an exciting season. Gartrel and LaDamian are going to put the sizzle back in the Bolts and maybe we will even get a smile out of Nov Turner! And maybe the mantra “wait till next year” can be put on the back burner.
