Unsung Heroes
I am from the mountains of North Carolina where the seasons are signaled by the snow capped mounts in the winter. There is gentle rain in the spring which brings on the magnolia and Dogwoods in the summer. Fall beautiful breathe taking fall is brought on with the hill ablaze with the changing colors of the fall foliage. I am a transplanted southern California girl where we have no such change of seasons. The Beach Boys sang the song which said it best it never rains in California and that brings on a great problem. The fire season
We are now in the throes of such a season and have lost many acres to the wild fires putting life and property at a lost. This is bad enough when it is caused by accident or by nature, but when it is caused as this one is thought to be by human hand, it is more than a crime. These brave firefighting men and women put themselves into harms way to protect us and our homes.
So far we have lost two firefighters when their truck rolled over and they were trapped. To their families I say “God bless you and we will hold you in our prays.” To those families that still have fighters on the front lines, may God keep them safe.
The beauty of living in California comes with a heavy price tag!
