Protect and Serve: Oh Yeah
Another city has gotten a black eye given to them by their finest. An Erie PA. police officer was caught joking about the death of a man who was killed after fighting with another man. The man was shot in the forehead and his body landed under a sign that said ”take it to the head.“ As he lay dying, body twitching, his mother observed this. For some reason a drunken officer, James Cousins, thought this was funny. He ranted in profane language later in a bar and this was caught on video and posted on the Internet.
Where are we getting these people from? I really don’t need an answer for this question because I know. If you read a recent post of mine about ethics of some of today’s professionals, this just proves my point. A lot of the young people have grown up and have not learned right from wrong. They grew up with a parent or parents who did not set limits or teach them what consequences are. So they just do whatever they want. Even in job situations.
As for the cop, has he not learned that big brother is everywhere? No longer can your dirty deeds be done under the cover of darkness and left there. Be aware, be very aware! You will be drug out into the spotlight. Bosses everywhere are being put on the hot seat. And guess who will twist in the wind. YOU!

What’s so surprising? Cops are no better than real people. Just that they have traditionally been better equipped to cover up reprehensible behavior.

You are so right Lou. And it still goes on. Cities cover up the acts of cops that think their badges allows them to treat others in ways they would not want to be treated. As a child of a deputy sheriff and having other in law enforcement members in my family I hang my head when I see these acts. I think it comes from younger people not understanding the code they should live by.
