My Open Letter to Michelle Obama

As a strong Black woman who lived in the days of segregation. I ventured into the new area of integration knowing what it means to stand alone being judged not only for what I achieved but to have road blocks thrown up at every twist of the road. Let me make it clear. My journey was not done in the public arena that you are in. I am not comparing what I went through to be as difficult as your trip. But please know that ALL women who have had trials in fire stand behind you.

I am sure you knew this would not be easy and you would be judged for more reasons than any other first lady in history I am sure there have been even in these first few days surprises on how many attacks there are on you.

Do not falter! You have shown that you are courageous, intelligent, and beautiful, and have a husband whose love and admiration shows in every glance of his eyes. Times will be hard but know that most of the women of America stand by you in spirit.

Michelle may God give you the strength to keep your head up high and your spirits bright. Good luck and may God’s grace and mercy sustain you in the coming years.
