That ain’t right
Stand back folks! Nocnurse is dragging out her soap box and I am going off like a Roman Candle on the Fourth of July!!!!
I read the article on patients being asked to sign away their rights to post complaints about their doctors. These prima donas say that it could hurt a doctor’s practice. Let’s bring this out to the light. If you are a good doctor and have 19 positive posts and one bad post, how can that hurt your practice? Doctors have become such business people that they have forgotten the art of caring about the patient as a person.
Folks let me tell you as a nurse, and unfortunately as a patient, I have seen the best and worst of them. I worked with doctors who broke the fundamental rules such as wanting to get back to sleep so quickly they refused to let you clarify orders by reading the orders back to them. I have seen doctors not listen to patient’s legitimate complaints, or play patients against nurses by telling the patients one thing then writing another in the chart for nurses to follow. These are the same doctors who don’t want you to write about them.
These are little things. There are other things I could chronicle for you, but I just want to say if a doctor pushes this piece of paper across the desk for you to sign, it aint right! Run, don’t walk, to the nearest doctor who has nothing to hide. Want to read another person’s view on the subject go to I’m Not Feeling It . My daughter says it so much better!
