The Round Mound of Rebound or to non sports fans, Sir Charles Barkley, got 3 to 5 days in jail for a DUI. Or as I would like to call it, Dumb Unthinking Idiot!

Since driving while drunk takes lives and often not the person who causes these accidents, I have little or no sympathy for those who drive while drunk. I do think the time Sir Charles has been given is NOT enough. This is another case of people with money getting special treatment.

I loved Barkley when he was on the court, but once he left the court he often put his big foot in his even bigger mouth. I still fume about his statement that he was not a role model. Well duh! We can see that Charles! If you want to drink, go right ahead and drink. But hire a sober driver to take you where you need to go. Or does this mess with your masculine image?

One hundred and eighty five thousand people were killed last year from drunk drivers. There are many organization like MADD, that work hard to stop people from getting behind the wheel after having too much to drink. On major holidays, some cities offer free rides on trolleys and buses to help out.

Get a gripe people! Stop this practice of drinking and driving, and use alternative ways to get home. And judges! Give everyone the proper sentence when they break the law. No favoritism or special treatment for celebrities!
