Valentine’s Day

Tomorrow is Valentine’s day and I think of the loves of my life, my kids. Mothers love their kids but do they all like them? Can they hold their heads up high because their children grew up to be fine, upstanding people? Well I can. Are they perfect? NO! And do they drive me crazy sometimes? YES! But they are smart and hard workers and anyone who has met them will speak of their good manners.

The oldest is my daughter who is so into sports and computers. She is also the organized one. I swear that girl can find receipts from ten years ago. People who have worked with her speak of how she made things better in the workplace. At home she makes sure I take care of myself. God have mercy on anyone who tries to take advantage of her mother. I look at this strong Black woman and feel it’s an honor to be her mother.

My youngest is my son who followed in my footsteps and came into medical field. Was this a surprise? Not really. He showed interest in nursing at an early age. He is so good at what he does and works far above the level of a Psychiatric Technician. People always comment on how good he is to work with.

When I look back and see what these cute little kids grew up to be and how wonderful they are, my heart runs over with love. This is a great Valentines Day!

Yes-our children can be the most precious people we will ever know, and they can also be the most irritating people we will ever know. All in all-we love them unconditionally (just like our pets!!!) and put up with all their follies– which are usually similar to the ones we did when we were their ages. Valentines Day is a time to reflect on all those we currently love or have loved in the past -and we need this holiday as a little reminder for us to let our loved ones know just how much we appreciate them. Also, remember this is the day that the ST. VALENTINES DAY MASSACRE took place. Hahahahahaha.
