It sucks To have a Handicap
Up until four years ago, I was an able bodied person able to do whatever I needed to do. But now that I have many health challenges and my mobility is limited, life has gotten harder to deal with. I can still do my own grocery shopping and it gives me the opportunity to get out of the house. But sometimes I need help.
Yesterday being Super Bowl Sunday, I got up and out early to finish grocery shopping in time for the game at the Albertsons in Lemon Grove, California. Having to use one of the motorized shopping carts, I sometimes ask for help from a courtesy clerk to go around with me to get the large items so as not to fill up the basket on the cart. Well today some well meaning checker put back my food, TWICE, even after the clerk explained why the food was there. This meant that all the grocery items that I needed had to picked up again. I then found out while I was waiting for that to happen someone else had put the other food back. I had a melt down right then and there. When I got home, I realized that most of the items that I really needed were not in my trunk making this a wasted endeavor. My shopping trip had exhausted all my strength and patience. Oh for the days when counting on someone to help you didn’t make everything a bigger problem.
Albertsons in Lemon Grove, California, you are now on my not handicap friendly list!!!
