Medi-Care mine field

I have mentioned that I am retired an now trying to navigate through the medical mine fields of Medi-Care.What a mess to have to deal with. I worked and had good health insurance for so many years that I had no idea what Medi-Care would be like. Even as a nurse, I’m still having a hard time figuring out what are the best programs and just how to get what I need. Most of my friends are around my age and we talk and compare rates and charges. The prices range from reasonable to ridiculous for the same medication. I have been on Lipitor since before I stopped working and it was twenty-five dollars. Now that I am retired and on a fixed income it costs me one hundred twenty dollars. I guess I am suppose to fall on my knees for that price because it was going to be one hundred ninety eight dollars. They have to give it to me at that price because I am allergic to their approved cholesterol medictions. My doctor was aware of the policy but failed to inform the pharmacy to ge me the lower price. I was told by a friend in another plan that this was true. I then went back to my doctor and got the lower priced medications. Are these high price necessay? I don’t think so. Others with Medi-care have lower prices. Companies are just going after the seniors on fixed incomes. Medications which are mostly used by seniors are so cost prohibitive that some seniors are having to decide between medications and other essentials like food, heat, and gas. As Americans, why do we stand still and let this happen?

There are thirty-five million people over sixty-five years old. Why are we not banning together to make the polticans streamline the system and make it work for us? Why are we sending money to people that would like to kill our young men and women, and us? We could be using that money for American who have worked all our lives and now need help with the escalating medical costs? Why are we acting like sheep being lead to slaughter?
